Superhero Kids is a volunteer-driven non-profit that provides quality-of-life assistance to families undergoing treatment for cancers or blood disorders at the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
100% of donations received go towards direct financial assistance for the families, and programming that will help the children emotionally and physically while battling cancers or blood disorders.
When a child is diagnosed, many families begin the long road of treatment with one parent having to quit their job to take care of their child, and many children visiting the clinic multiple times a week. They start this difficult road by cutting their annual income in half. And as a result, there are families who have never worried about paying monthly bills that now find themselves in desperate situations; particularly in this difficult economy.
That’s why Superhero Kids exists: to help lighten the load during an unimaginably difficult time and hopefully see light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.
We chose the name Superhero Kids because that’s exactly what these kids are: superheroes. The strength, courage and spirit shown by the kids we’ve met has truly changed our lives and inspired us to make a difference.
